4th December, 1922,

It gives me great pleasure to testify to the very high opinion I hold of Dr. John Anderson, both as a man and as a physician. I have known him for over five years, and I can safely assert that I have seldom met anyone who impressed me so much with his versatility, accuracy and breadth of knowledge in various

branches of medicine.

His knowledge of clinical medicine is extensive; added to this

he is keen on research and has a first-hand acquaintance with

general pathology, tropical medicine and bacteriology, all so essen-

tial to a teacher of modern medicine.

On many occasions during the War, when serving with a Casualty Clearing Station, he showed very considerable ability in administra- tion,

added to which he had considerable operative experience.

In 1921 he was selected by Sir Patrick Manson to carry out clinical and therapeutic research in connection with the Filariasis Commission to the West Indies under the leadership of Professor R.T. Leiper, and during the absence of the latter he had sole charge of the Expedition for six months.
