Dear Harding,

RE 30 AUG 22

dated the 13th June,

In the despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong,

a copy of which the Colonial Office sent us on the

26th instant (No. 35796/22), there is a suggestion

that Mr. E. W. Carpenter, Executive Engineer, who

is now on leave, should supply the Office of Works

personally with all detailed information they require

in connection with the site for the wireless station

we had in contemplation at Hong Kong. Although it

is probable the station will not now be proceeded with,

I think it would be useful if Mr. Carpenter could call

here, as well as at the Office of Works, as we should

like to know his views on the scheme in case it should

eventually be decided to proceed with a station at Hong Kong. If you agree, perhaps you will be good enough to arrange for him to pay us a visit before his leave expires?

Yours sincerely,
