I have the honour to inform you that the Council of the League of Nations has adopted the following recommendation of the Advisory Committee on Traffic in Opium and other Dangerous
Drugs :-
"That the offer of the League of Red Cross Societies to invite the lational Red Cross Societies which are interested in the Onium question to undertake educational work as to the evil results of the abuse of opium should be accepted.
The League of Red Cross Societies informe me that an Oriental Red Cross Conference is to take place at Bangkok
between November 29th and December 11th of this year and that the following item figures on the agenda:-
"Opium: The League of Nations has requested the League of Red Cross Societies to study, plan and co-operate in an educational sampaign against opium”.
In view of the importance of this subject and of the assistance which the League of Red Cross Societies is giving to the league of liations in its efforts to suppress the traffic.
I venture to call your attention to the hope expressed by the
