REPORT of the DIRECTOR OF COLONIAL AUDIT on the Account
of the Treasurer of Hongkong for the year ended the 31st
of December, 1920.
As certified thereen, the above mentioned Account,
together with the Statement of Assets and Liabilities on
the 31st of December, 1920, has been examined under my
directions.

The questions which arose in the course of
examination have been satisfactorily settled, as far as
possible, but a few pointe, including two in connection
with the accounts of the year 1919, still remain out-
standing.
3. The balance of the Unallocated Stores Suspense
Account of the Public Works Departament ($298,721.29) on
the 31st of December 1920, as recorded in the Statement
of Assets and Liabilities, exceeded the authorised Standard
3tock ($200,000) by £98,721.29.
4. The Appropriation Account for the year records
under the subherd "Other Miscellaneous Services" of the
Head "Viecellaneous Services" a credit figure of
$199,945.79. In this connection, I enclose for the
information of the Secretary of State a copy of a
Reference Sheet (No: 3/1920) which I have addressed
to the Auditor regarding certain points which require
further explanation.

The liability in respect of Crown Agents
Advances, recorded in the Statement of Assets and Idabi-
lities as being $164,970.96, should have been shown as
$165,470.96.
