Bir,

With reference to your letter of the 19th June, 1920,
o, 19822/1920) and subsequent correspondence, I am directed
to state that the Board of Education have interviewed two
candidates in connection with the vacancy under the Hong Kong Education Department.
The Committee were not prepared to recommend either
candidate for definite appointment. They desire however,
to draw attention to the case of Mr. G.W. Reeve. His
qualifications and experience do not exactly satisfy the
conditione presented by the Hong Kong Education Department
but his personal qualities and attainmente seemed to the
Committee worthy of consideration. He is an athlete
and possessed of pleasant manner and good address. The
Committee considered that he was the type of man suitable
on grounds of personal qualifications for an English public
school,
Mr. Reeve's name is accordingly submitted to you for
your consideration.
