The Postmaster General will be much obliged if you
will be so good as to furnish him with a list of the staff
at each of the Agencies who wish to be transferred to the
Chinese service, with particulars of their service, their
soules of pay and so on. The Chinese Directorate General
of Posts will probably wish to be furnished with such a list
before arranging for the transfer to be carried out locally.
If you are of opinion that some small gratuity,
proportionate perhaps to their years of service, should be
paid to the Chinese staff on transfer, the Fostmaster General
will be pleased to recommend any proposal to that effect to
the favourable consideration of the Treasury,
