which is 1.35 feet above that adapted on the Admiralty
Charts.
For the make of comparison we have reduced the new
soundings to the Admiralty Datum, mad find that for the meat
part the sentoure derived from the resent soundings agree
Tary closely with those given on the charts. Southward and
westward of the Hussey and Cust Reaks the contours are
prastically the same. Northward and eastward of those rooks
i.e. within the bight of Hung Ham Bay, the new contours from
fathome inwards are slightly further seaward than the old.
From thie it will be seen upën examining the plans
accompanying this report, to which reference is made in the
next paragraph, that the depth of water in the approaches to
the proposed verks has been well maintained, and the slight
shoaling which appears to have taiten place has been cenfined
to Kung Hêm Bay and that, for the most part, is within the
limits of the jetty and reclamation works proposed.
