Future developments in the handling and disposal
of goods if through railway communication with the Herth
of Chiam takes place is a matter on which it is difficult
to prophesy - There can be no question that an enormous
impetus will be given to the despatch of imports by rail,
and in all probability there will be still greater develop-
mente in connection with bringing goods for export by rail
te Kowloon. We are very doubtful whether impert goods will
bo påseed directly from ship into truck in any quantity.
In all probability nearly all such goeds will go into shed
for sorting and examination. Šone heavy material may ne
denbt go direct into truck. As regards exporta, it is much
more probable that truck leads may come from wo country
which may go direst into ship, but we do not anticipate
that this will amount to a large proportion of the sxport
trade.

now undertaken for delivery and collection of goods by water, while at the same time taking care to do everything
which may be necessary to enable rail transport to develop
