In reply to your letter of the 12th April last, (0.11443/1922) regardin; the suspension of compensation allowances payable in respect of service in the Royal Irish Constabulary to persone now gervin in the Palestine Gendarmerie, I as directed by the Chief Secretary to express reret that oy inadvertance your letter in
question was put up without a reply having been sent
thereto.
The decision of the "resury regardin; the suspausion of the oxqeneation allowances in question is
that disburied naabers of the Royal Irish Constabulary serving in the Palestine Gendarmoris may receive such part of their componention allowances na together with the pay
receiveu by them in the Falestine Gendarmerie will make up
an amount equal to the actual rate of pay which they were
receiving at the date of the termination of their service
in the Royal Irish Constabulary, so far as that rate of pay
was in respect of their substantive rank in the Royal Irish
Constabulary, or in respect of a hi, her temporary
Lensionable rank.
