under Section 19 of the Act to the effect that in any British Possession the bath of allegiance' may be by affirmation or declaration in lieu of oath taken and attested in manner prescribed or allowed by the law of such British Possession for the taking of affirmations or declar- ations in lieu of oath for any judicial or legal purpose. Unless power to grant extension of time is to be given to Governers of British Possessions in Council corresponding to the power given to the Governor General of India in Council under Regulation 11 of the Regulations (India) 1916, mada under the said Section 19, say extension of time to | make the oath must be granted by the Secretary of State.
