With reference to your letter of the 22nd
November, 1921, addressed to the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies on the subject of encouraging the purchase of British cars in the Colonies in place of those of American
make, I am directed to inform you that Mr. C. Mol. Messer, Colonial Treasurer, expects to arrive in England on leave of
absence on July 18th and will leave again about the beginning of October.
He states that if other arrangements have
not been made on his behalf for the purchase of a car he is prepared to purchase a 5 seater Cubitt car at £442 less 20%
if you are able to obtain one for him at that price and can
arrange that delivery is made within a week. He will call
and inform you immediately on arrival whether he requires
a car.
I should be glad therefore if you will give
him all assistance possible so that his experience may be
available for this Government.

(Sd. M. Fletcher,
Colonial Secretary.
