Government House,
HONGKONG.
13th June, 1922.
With reference to your despatch No. 92 of the
23rd March, I have the honour to confirm my telegram of the 12th June, which reads as follows:-
"Your despatch of 23rd March No.92 Wireless Telegraphy. Surveys can be undertaken after selection "of sites by Fublic Works Dopartment who will co-operate
#
and render all possible assistance. Impossible to "forward complete particulare enumerated in schedules "until sites selected. Suggest communication with "Carpenter, Executive Engineer, home on leave who can
时
answer any questions. Despatch follows".
2.
The selection of the actual sites for the proposed wireless stations being a matter for the experts who are being sent to this Colony by the General Post office it appears that no steps can be taken in the direction of surveying the sites or supplying the full particulare asked for in the Office of Works' letter of the 3rd Karoh, until these officers have made their selection.
As stated in my telegram, however, I am prepared to permit the Public Works Department of this Colony to undertake the surveys after the sites are selected, and that Department will co-operate with and render every possible assistance to the experts aftor their arrival.
RIGHT HONOURABLE
WINSTON CHURCHILL, M.P.
