disappeared from my sight. I saw the single man caught. I saw the white man catch him. I was one-third up when I saw the man caught. I don't recognize Capt., Morgan. I did not notice anybody in Euro- pean clothing running up that street. There were no body between me and the men running. There was a man at the other end of the road seem to be chasing the man up. It was a man in European clothing standing near the railings of the Bank garden. There was nobody between me and the 4 Chinese I have spoken of. There was one foreigner I saw him catch a man. I came on to the Praya from the firefloat and saw people running. The Chinese were running from the wooden enclosure into the square. After I went past the statue I saw a European, He was chasing and calling. I went on the left side of the statue, I overtook and got ahead of the European who was chasing people. I passed him half way between Queen's statue and Des Voeux Road entrance to Wardley Street. I was running on the pavement. I saw about 3 Chinese on the pavement. Of the 3 Chinese running on the pavement in the aquare 2 were very much ahead of the third. I am a coxswain. When I was in the road in the square there were about 4 Chinese running in the road ahead of me. When they got to the tram line they separated in different directions some went to the right and some to the left and some up the road by the City Hall. I know the steps. I saw some Chinese run up the steps. They were the 3 I have been referring to. Stoker Lau Po is here in Hongkong. I don't know if 2 other firemen came off with me.
