letter of the 17th June, that he understands from
Fr. Cecil Harmsworth, the Under Secretary of State
for Foreign Affairs, that the Foreign Office are pronosing to set up a small Comittee, under the
dhairmar.shin of Sir John Jordan, to consider the
whole question of education in China, and that the
China Association will be reorgaentot on this
Committen.
The Committee will discuss the question of the
use of our share of the Boxer Indemnity, but it is
not possible to say at present whether it will be
found possible to devote any of it to educational
purposes in China,
