From J. W. HEMBROUGH, Esq., M.D., D.P.H., Medical Officer of Health for the County of Northumberland.

The Moothall,

Newcastle-on-Tyne,

April 23rd, 1917.

Dr FRANCIS OLARK has acted as Tuberculosis Officer under

the Northumberland County Council's scheme since July 20th,

1915.

During this time Dr Clark has been solely responsible

for the County Council's small Sanatorium, and for the

treatment of all patients attending the four Tuberculosis

Dispensaries provided by the County Council; he has been the

Medical Adviser of the Insurance Committee, and has visited

and examined every applicant for Sanatorium benefit in all

parts of the County.

Dr Clark has oarried out all the above work, as well as

his office administration, with perfect regularity and effi-

ciency and with a total absence of friction. He is a born

organiser, is extraordinarily energetic, is invariably well

received both by Medical Practitioners and patients, and is,

in addition, a most agreeable colleague.

I should be extremely sorry to lose his most valuable

co-operation.

(Signed) J. W. HEMBROUGH.
