REPORT of the DIRECTOR OF COLONIAL AUDIT on the Account of the Treasurer of Hong Kong for the year ended the 31st of December, 1919.
As certified thereon, the above mentioned Account, tugather with the S'atenent of Assets and Liabilities on the 31st of December, 1919, has been examined under my directions.
2. The questions which arusa in the course of examination have been satisfactorily settled, as far as possible, but a few points still remain outstanding.
3. The asset of $205,368,91 which is recorded in the Statement of Assets and Liabilities as representing the balance of the Unallocated Stores Suspense Account of the Public Works Department, and which shows an excess of $5,368.91 over the Standard Stuck of $200,000, is incorrect. I am informed that the correct ancunt was $234,393.25, and that the Treasurer has admitted the error, which has been adjusted in the accounts of the succeeding year. The actual excess over the Standard Stock on the 31st December 1919 was, therefore, $34,393.25.
