I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of
His Majesty's Treasury to refer to Sir G. Grindle's
Trens letter of the 2nd ultimo, (58486/1921), respecting the
additional powers being sought by the Chartered Bank
of India, Australia and China, with regard to undertaking,
administration and trust business, and to enquire
whether the replies of the Governors of Hong Kong
and the Straits Settlements have yet been received.
