London, ACN
12th December, 1921.
Mr. Walton has asked me to send you a copy of the agreement between the Governor of Hongkong and the Government of India for direct supply of Indian opium,
We have no copy of the actual agreement concluded with the Governor of Hongkong, but I am sending you a copy of the draft for in which these
agrements are now concluded. The agreement with Hongkong is for five years and came into force on the 1st January 1921. The price paid under this agreement is Rs.4000 per chest. The number of years' notice necessary to teminate the agreement is probably two.
I hope this will give you the information you require, but if you prefer to have a copy of the actual agreement with Hongkong we can obtain this from India.
Yours truly,
Drin
