the Hongkong Custodian had advised them
lr. Albrechtsen had become a Danish
National, and that his balance is now at
his free disposal. Accordingly, Kr.
Albrechtsen has been instructed to apply
to this office for a settlement of the
balance with our Hongkong Office, amounting
to $ 1021.29.

In reply to your letter of the 3rċ
stant, the position in regard to the
balance with cur Bank of Mr. B.P.A.
brechtsen may become clearer when I
explain that, although our Bank is
Incorporated in Hongkong, this office is,
by special arrangement with the Clearing
Office, clearing the indebtedness coming under Article 296 of the Treaty of Versailles, in London direct with the
elearing Office, that
Clearing Office, that is to say, this
office and not Hongkong clears for the whole bank.
