Sir:-
I am directed by the arguess Curzon of Kedleston
to transmit herewith a proof of a White Paper which it is
proposed to lay before Parlia_ent, on the subject of the
cultivation of opium in Chine, in continuation of the
correspondence published in 1913 (China No. 2. 1913,
C2.6876).

Certain ::inor corrections and deletions have
still to be made in this proof, but as Lord Curzon is
anxious that the correspondence in question should be laid
et an early date, I an to enquire whether Kr. Secretary
Churchill sees any objection in principle to the publication
of these documents, attention being more particularly
drawn to Nos. 49 and 50, and to request the favour of an
early reply.
