Further to my Note No. 94 of yesterday's date regarding
the recent insident at Kaone, I have the honour to communicate
to Your Lordship further partimlars received by telegraph from
my Government amongst which are the following demande officially
made by the Canton Government; –
1. The Portuguese Consul to offer satisfaction for
Portuguese soldiers having gone beyond the maritine limite
and attacked Chinese forces. (Faste which are untrue).
Punishment and dismissal of the Portuguese guilty of
these fasta.

Guarantees that the Haogo Gʻvernment võsuols will not go
beyond a line drawn down the middle of the interior harbour,
(which means loss of Portuguese jurisdiction over the watere
of the interior harbour whiah, sinos long before the Treaty
of 1887, have been exclusively under Portuguese sovereignty),
4. Immediate removal of defence works at the Portas de
Ceros. (These are on Portuguese territory).
5. Immediate removal of lighting arrangemente near the
Portas de Deres (established since 1900).
At the time these demands were being presented Chinese
gun-boats arrived at Macae and remained, under the same infringe-
ments as the Chinese torpedo-boat.
