The Danish Chargé d'Affaires presents his compliments to

the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and has the honour

in conformity with instructions to call the Marquees Curzon's

favourable attention to the following matter:

Jacob Bruhn, a former asip muster residing at Aabenraa

Thỏ his groukawu Danish nationality in virtue of Article 18,

of the Danish Law or deptember 8th, 1980 as shown by the enclosed

certificate, has applied for the assistance of the King's Govern—

ment in obtaining the release of Dollars 3890,00 with accrued interests from the 30th of June 1914, which amount was deposited

by him with Messrs. Jabaen & Co. of Hongkong as evidenced by the

enclosed statement. The fire was liquidated when the war broke

cut and its assets sequestrated by His Britanic Majesty's

Government.

In forwarding herewith a solemn declaration with a translat

ion from Mr. Bruhn according to which he renounces his right to

opt for Germany granted his by Art. 118 of the Treaty of ver-

sailles M. 8. Langkjær ventures to hope that Lord Curzon will be

so good an to recommend this matter to the favourable consider-

ation of the competent British authorities and to ausa 17.
