recognised by parents must stisfy the folloving conditions.

(#) Such person must not be of full nge according to the law

of his or her own country.

(b) Such person must not be the wife of foreign national. (4) Foreign nationals and persons without mtionality may be naturalised if they have obtained permission from the

Ministry of the Interior (revised).

The said permission shall not barted by the Finistry of the Interior except to mersons satisfying the following conditions: (revised)

(a) Having had a domicile in China for not less than five years continuously. (revised)

(0) inving attained the age of 20 years and being SUI JURIS according to the low of him and of their comtry(revised). (c) Being of good character.

(d) oing possessed of sufficient property or of technical

ability sufficient to amble them to snort themselves. (e) Being without nationality or losing their nationality by reason of their acquiring Chinese nationality. In the case of persons without nationality being maturalised as Chinese citizens, the condition (b) above shall be deter ined

by reference to Chinese law only.

(b) The wife of foreign intional shall not be naturalised. unless her husband is naturalised at the same time. (revised)

(6) The following classes of foreigners at present domiciled In China may be naturalised notwithstanding their not

satisfying condition (a) of art. (4)

A

(a) person whose father or mother has been a Chinese citizen. (b) A person whose wife has been chinese citizen.

(c) A person born in China.

(d) a person who has had a domicile in Chine for not leas than 10

years' continuously.

Foreign

Foreign nationals included under (A) to (c) shall not not be naturalised unless they have continuously and a domicile in China for not less than 3 years, but this limitation shall not apply to foreign nationals included under (c) whose fathers or mothers

shall have been born in China.

(7) A foreign national having a domicile in Chim whose father or mother is a Chinese citizen my be naturalised notwithstand- ing failure to satisfy conditions (a) or (b) or (d) of Art(4). (E) A foreign national who has attained to high public honours in China may be naturalised notwithstanding failure to satisfy conditions (a), (b), (c) and (d) of art. (4).

In granting permission for nåturalisation in coses such as the last mentioned the Finistry of the Interior shall have first obtained the sanction of the President. (revised).

(9) Notice that naturalisation has taken place shall be publish-

ed in the Government Gazatte (revised).

Until after the publication of such notice naturalisation

(c)cannot be pleaded against a bona fide third party.

(10) The wife of a person naturalised and his children under full age according to the law of his own country xzqxira İs viickzbelastbelonged acquire Chinese nationality together with him but this shall not apply in cases in which there is contrary provision in the law of the country to which the wife or the children below full age of such person belong (revised).

The wife of a naturalised foreigner, if ble by reason of

the above mentioned exception to this article to be naturalised

together with her husband may be natyralised notwithstanding

(c) failure to satisfy conditions (a), (b) and (d) of Art. (4).

(11) Naturalised foreigners and the wives,naturalised together

with their husbands, of such naturalised foreigners shall be

mable to hold following public offices:
