salaries, which, after careful consideration,
and in view of the particulars given in this
position, we consider to be reasonable; -

We attach a schedule and diagram showing
salaries paid in June 1914, salaries paid
in December 1919, and the new scale recently
introduced, from which it will be seen that
the new scale shows an average increase of
only 10% in local surrency over the 1914
galaries. The scale of salaries now asked
for is also represented on the schedule and
diagram.
We respectfully call Your Lordship's atten-
tion to the fact that the majority of us
receive no benefit whatever from the scheme
of house allowance at present in force in
the Colony,
We desire to convey to Your Lordship
our appreciation of the concession granted in the
provision of free passages for officers and their
families when going on long leave,
We trust Your Lordship will give this
