Replying to your letter of the 12th.
instant, I have gone into the matter carefully, and in my opinion the cost of living in this Colony has increased from 15 to 20%
since the end of 1918.
For your information and guidance, I deem
it advisable to point out that the general tendency indicates &
further increase of at least 25% within the course of the next
two years. I am aware that prophesies as to the future are open to adverse criticism, nevertheless, I am confident that my
prognostications will prove correct.
