May it please Your Excellency
We, the undermentioned officers of the Public Works Department of Hong Kong, feel so dissatisfied with the
inadequate scale of revised salaries communicated to us
by The Honourable Director of Public Works that we respect- fully request Your Excellency to withold such revised scale, to allow us to continue to draw the Salaries, Allowances
and War Bonus hitherto paid and to grant us an additional
ten per cent temporary relief as from the 1st. of January,
1920 until replies have been received from The Secretary of
State for the Colonies to whom petitions will be addressed
from ach section of this Department.
