STRAITS SETTLEMENTS.
PARTICULARS of the Office of Assistant in the Architects Office of the Public Works Department, Singapore, now vacant in the Colony of the Straits Settlements.
1. Duties of office and qualifications required for their
performance.
Must produce a medical certificate of physical fitness
for duty in the Tropics.
May be required to serve anywhere in the Colony, the Federated Malay States, or the Malay States not included in the
Federation.
(i) To prepare
(1) What are the duties of the Office? contract and working drawings, details, superintend works, and to generally assist in the usual work of an Architect's Office.
(ii) What are the qualifications required? (ii) Applicants must be neat, quick and accurate draftsmen, good designers, conversant with the Rennaissance style of architecture, good constructionists and have a knowledge of ferr-concrete design and construction. Preference should be given to architects who, have been articled and trained in the offices in London or Provincial architects of good standing and who are members of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

pass any examinations, and if so in what subjects and within what period.
