We are instructed by the Chinese Chamber Commerce of Sandakan, British North Borneo, to enclose herewith two copies of a Petition signed by the Merchants of Eritish North Borneo to the Directors of the British North Borneo Company, praying for the revocation of a timber monopoly, and are instructed to request that you may be kind enough to transmit one of the copies to the Right Honourable the Secretary of
State for the Colonies.

We are sending the original Petition to the Directors of the British North Borneo Company, London.
We shall be glad if you will kindly draw the attention of Right Hon. the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to the fact that the Petition has been signed or chopped by practically all the firms in British North Borneo.
