armed with revolvers.
In the circumstances it was held that no useful purpose could be served by preferring a criminal charge against the man by whom the shot was fired in fact that such proceed-
inge might probably do a considerable amount of harm.
3. I should be glad if Your Lordship will convey to the sister of Lance Sergeant Gardiner the deep sympathy of
this Government in the unfortunate circumstances in which he
met his death.
