I beg to state for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies
that we are not prepared to accept the arrangement suggested by the Hong Kong Government.
What I wish to put before the Secretary of State is the request to be paid my pension in accordance with the currency in force in England when the Conditions 3/82 were adopted, as explained in my letter of 18th Dec. last.
Temporary increase of pension, which would compensate for the fall in value of currency, is being contemplated. I have decided that it may not be objectionable in that way.
