letter of the 11th instant, We are much obliged to
you for taking steps in this matter with a view of
obtaining an explanation of Mr. Tacchi's conduct from
the Governor of Hong Kong,
In the meantime, we are instructed to call
attention to Paragraph 3 of your communication and to
say that it is absolutely untrue that Mr. Taschi either
arranged in December for the necessary care of his wife
during her operation or paid anything toward the cost of
it.
