We have been requested by Mrs. Mabel Grace Tacchi, who is, at present, residing at 43, Granada Road, Southase, the wife of Clifford John Tacchi to write you with reference to her present position.

It appears that in November last her hus- band deserted her and went to London, that, at a later date,

he took with him the only son of the marriage. She wrote him to return, which he declined to do, and, eventually, she took proceedings against him before the Portsmouth Magistrates for an Order under the Married Women's Summary Jurisdiction Act 1895 on the ground of desertion, but, in consequence of the plausible story told them by him, the Magistrates thought that she ought to go back with him which abe said she was willing to do. He, however, left her at the door of the Court, went off back to London, and, we understand, last week, in London, he was convicted of trayel- ling on the Railway without a ticket,
