EXTRACTS FROM THE "BEIRA POST",
Referring to the Agricultural Exhibition stated July 31,1912:
*
A
The Gala Week, just over, from every point of view has been a
success. Many visitors were attracted and got excellent entertain-
ment. The Agricultural Show was, under all circumstances, a marvellous
success, and His Excellency the Governor deserves every praise for
the spirit of loyality that he has raised up amongst the farming community. We may venture to state that it was that feeling of per-
sonal loyality to His Excellency and the popularity of Mr.Dawe (the Director of Agriculture) that produced exhibits, at absurdly short
notice, which would be creditable on any show in South Africa. As the
First Show in the Portuguese Colonies it was a signal success,
primarily through having such a rich country to emsample, andin the
second place through the very hearty cooperation of the industrial
enterprises, which bring out the resources of this country and pre-
pare a big harvest for the Kozambique Company.
Referring to Mr.Dave's departure on leave for England, stated July1,
1913:
Mr.M.T.Dawe, the Director of Agriculture, left by the "gascon" for England on leave. Mr.Dave has had a spell of very hard work during his time with the Mozambique Company and has done much for the country. He has found time to win the regard and respect of the farmer and all who have been brought in contact with him",
