Assembly's Committee on Temperance.

"The Committee on Temperance of the United Free Church of Scotland, whilst grateful for the passing of the Dangerous Drugs Bill and expressing the hope that its provisions will be regularly carried out so that the export of morphia to the East other than in medicinal quantities should cease, would desire to draw the attention of the Governmentto the Declaration of the Hague Opium Convention whereby our Delegates pledged us to treat India and our Eastern De- pendancies "in every respect in the same way" regarding Drug Legislation as in the United Kingdom, and would urge accordingly that a Dangerous Drugs bill be at once intro- duced for India, and also for the Straits Settlement in
Hong Kong"
