THE APPOINTLEENT OF TEN ASSISTANT MISTRESSES TO THE
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT OF HONG KONG.
1. The Secretary of State for the Colonies requires Ten

Candidates should be between 23 and 30 years of

igo and should be Trained and Certificated Toachers able
o teach French, Drawing, and Binging. Four should be
familiar with Kindergarten work. A University Degree will
be an advantage.
3. The engagement will be in the first instance for
ree years, and if at the end of the time her service
as been satisfactory the Assistant Mistress will be placed,
if mutually agreed, on the poneionable establishment of
The Colony.
4. The salary will be at the rate of £250 rising by
nual increments of £10 to £270 a year, and then, subject
to fitness for further promotion, 2280 rising by Annual

all be allowed, subject to the permission of the Director
of Education, to undertake private tuition. Half salary
