Experiments in Wireless Telegraphy.
Authority for Sending and Receiving,
Summary of Conditions of Issue.
Note: All sending stations must also be equipped for
reception.
(1) Applicants must produce evidence of British nationality and two written references from persons of British birth and of standing, not related to them.
(3) Installation must be approved by Postmaster General. (3) secrecy of correspondence must be observed.
(4) Applicants must satisfy the Fostmaster General
that they have in view some definite object of scientific value or general public utility. If scientific
research is intended they should be certified as
competent investigators by a Government Department or
Bore recognised scientific body.
(5) Each sending station must be under the charge of
a person who has satisfied the Postmaster General, by
examination or otherwise, that he has attained:-
(a) a sufficient knowledge of the adjustment and operation of the apparatus which he wishes to work.
(b) a korledge of the regulations of the International Convention in 30 far as they relate to the prevention of interference and, impose certain duties on all wireless operators; (these are contained in Section V of the Postmaster General's Land-book for Wireless Operators which is sold by the Stationery Office);
(e) an operating speed of at least 12 worde (kort) n minute, sending and receiving.
A fce of 5/- will be charged for the examination
referred to above, when necessary.
A licensce not possessing the above qualifications
may ho allowed, exceptionally, to employ a qualified
operator
