I have laid before the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury Sir F. Butler's letter of the 19th July last (D.0.T.1160/20/FA), relative to the provision of medial attendance in China and Japan for members of the Commercial Diplomatic Service and their staffs together with their wives and families, and I am directed to request you to convey to the secretary of 3tate for Foreign Affairs and the Board of Trade the following reply.
The arrangemont whereby medioul attendance is provided for Consular officers in China and Japan at the expense of His Majesty's Goverment is ous which is made by agreement with local medical practitioners on behalf of His Majesty's Government and not by the individual officers concerned, and My Lords direct me te tranmit herewith a co„y of a letter of to-day's date which They have addressed to the secretary of State lier General,
