With reference to your letter of the 4th
Augu (34127/1920) transmitting a copy of a confidential despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong on the subject
of the enemy-owned shares in the Hong Kong and Shanghai
Bank, I am directed by the Board of Trade to state for

objection to the Hong Kong Custodian dealing with the
shares on the London register as suggested by the
