I have the honour to inform you that Messrs. Frederic Gaebele & Co. of Calcutta have purchased the British Steamship "Singaporian" Official No. 87587 of the Port of Hong Kong. A member and partner of the firm appeured ba- fore me to have the Declaration of Ownership attested, and on enquiry I was informed that he is a Frenchman. therefore declined to attest the Declaration and have
I have informed him that under the Merchant Shipping Acts the firm is not entitled to own e British ship. I am not aware if, by any false representation, they have obtained the approval of the Board of Trade to the transfer of this vessel.
