Official Report

21 Ded 1970.

JUVENILE EMPLOYMENT, HONG

Mr. ALFRED

KONG.

DAVIES (Clitheroe) asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether there are any Regu- lations in the Colony of Hong Kong cou- trolling the amount of work which a child may be called upon to do or any limit of hours for which a child may be called

upon to work; and if there is any legisla- tion in the Colony to prevent these children from being employed at work obviously injurious to health?

I

Lieut.-Colonel AMERY: There appear to be no such provisions, but, as informed the hon. Member for Working- ton (Mr. Cape) yesterday, the Governor is being asked for a Report on the matter.
