sterling from 1907 to 1917 from its duties and excise
on opium spirits, etc., is also partially dependent upon the above mentioned skies of opium in Hongkong,
Singapore, the Straits Bettiomenta.
2. This Association is of the opinion thɛt it is
anomalous that in Great Britain there exist stringent rules against the sale and use of opium, morphia, etc.,
while in Hongkong, Singapore, the Straits Settlements
and otuer British dependencies the use of these habit
forming drugs is encouraged and relegated to the mani-
palation of a native farmer jogunlarily interested in
propagation of vice,
