a British Subject, will reside in Hankow, and will be in charge of the Central Division, and so on.

All of these Departmental Managers will be subject to the control of the Board of Directors sitting in Hong

Kong.

In order to comply with the provisions of the orders- in-Council of 1913 and 1914 as to Consular Registration of Companies incorporated in the United Kingdom or in any British Possession there will be a Chief Local Representa-

tive in China, but such Representative will not be invested

with any special powers as to the control of the Company's business in China, although he may possibly be a Member

of the Board,

BRITISH CIGARETTE COMPANY LIMITED will be transferred

to the Hong Kong Register as a Hong Kong Company, and the

Registered Office, Management and Control of that

Company's business will be removed to Hong Kong from

Shanghai.

The rectors will be:-

Sir H. Cunliffe-Owen, Bart, Chairman, who is not

and will not be resident in

Hong Kong or China.

William Morris, an American Citizen, Deputy Chairman

Thos. F. Cobbs, an American Citizen,

The Viscount Acheson, a British Subject,

W.B. Kennett, a British Subject, and, probably, one

other.

The majority of the shares of the British Cigarette Company Limited, is owned by the British-American Tobacco

Co., (China.) Limited.
