Peking on the subject, and of a letter addressed in the early
part of last year to Messrs Bewick, Moreing and Company.
I am to request that Lord Curzon may be favoured with
Lord Milner's observations on Mr. Alston's telegram of the 9th
instant, particularly in regard to the possible conflict which
may exist between the claims of the syndicate mentioned by
Mr. Alston and those of the groups referred to in the earlier
correspondence.
A similar letter is being addressed to the Department of
Overseas Trade.
