I have the Lonour to report that in compliance with

the instructions contained in your letter o.19740/1920 of

the 27th April, we requested the Agent General for Bri tish

Colombia to arrange with nis Government to pay to LA M.J.

Pierpoint, late Chief Herder, Victorie Gaol, Hong Kong, an

advance of 230 on account of a prospective increase of his

pension. The increase of pensiong authorised by the

Government of Hong Kong is however only payable to pensioners

domiciled in the United Kingdom, and in the circumstances,

have to request instructions concerning the manner in which

the advance should be recovered.
