In reply to your letter of the 13th inst., we beg to inform you that we have no information in regard to gables which have been thrown into disuse at Hong Kong by the laying of new cables, In 1915 a length of 2,000 yards of telephone cable containing 10 pairs of 1/20 oepper conductors paper impregnated, lead sheathed and armoured, was supplied by Jesers, Siemens Bros, under Requisition 1917/1. Thin sable, was laid between the Island and the mainland roughly in the position marked with a X on the attached blue print marked A. The cable is still in use. A copy of the Specification, to which this cable was made, and also a copy of blue print No. 3164 shewing details of the cable are also enclosed.
