a manual system should be adopted, as called for originally, and we now beg to recommend acceptance of the tender of the Pritish L.K. Ericsson Manufacturing Co., dated 10th November last, at a total cost of 2474. 6. 6. We enclosa the Company' a letter to us, dated 3rd December last, confirming the price. Items Nos. 3a, da and 4b, distributing and lightning prot so tor frame, neat coils and carbons, anould be omitted from the order, as this material is not required. Also the same applies to the pole changer mentioned under item 7. Kr. stevenson, the Goverment ectrician, prefers the motor-generator.
Mesare. Ericsson's tender is above that of the Peel-Conner Co., but we aucu prefer their apparatus.
A sample of their mechanically restoring indicator, which is giving satisfaction in est Africa, was shown to Mr. stevenson when he was at this office, and he approved of
it.
