With reference to your letter of the 20th December, 1920, I am directed to state that a despatch is being sent to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, requesting his sanction to the introduction of legisla- tion extending the powers granted under Section 7 of Ordinance No.65 of 1911 for the issue of notes by your bank until the 12th July, 1939, the date on which similar powers granted to the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China expire.
When a reply is received a further communica tion will be addressed to you.
