GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
HONGKONG. 13th December, 1920.
My Lord,
I have the honour to acknowledge the
receipt of Your Lordship's circular despatch of the 12th March, 1920, with regard to the standardisation marks of the National Physical Laboratory.
2.
These marks are to a certain extent pro- tected locally by the Merchandise Marks Ordinance, 1890, but as they have been actually registered in the United Kingdom, I would suggest that the Scientific and Indus- trial Research Department should consider the advisability of having them registered in Hongkong in accordance with Section 58 of the Trade Marks Ordinance No.40 of 1909, which corresponds to section 62 of the Trade Marks Act, 1905.
3.
If the Department wish the marks registered here, no formal application will be necessary, but they should forward six copies of the marks stating for what purpose they are used.
