I have the honour to forward a copy of letters received from Messrs. Dodwell & Co., Ltd., and from the Chairman of the Vital Requirements Committee regarding the requisitioning of the 8. 8. "Burrumbeet".

The carriage of the Kailan Mining Administration
coal to Hongkong is a matter of considerable importance to the Colony, more especially as the Chinese Section of the Kowloon
Canton Railway gets its coal from this source, and cannot afford to pay the exorbitant price asked for chartered to mage,
3. I shall be glad to learn whether in the se
ciroumstances arrangements can be made for requisitioned
tonnage to bring the coal.
