My Lord,
With reference to my despatch No.296 of the
25th September, 1920, I have the honour to address Your Lordship on behalf of Mr. Adem Gibson, M.R.C.V.S., Colonial Veterinary Surgeon, who is retiring shortly from the ser- vice of this Government on account of ill-health.
Mr. Gibson's illness arises solely from climatic causes and it is likely therefore that his health will be completely restored if he continues in future to reside in a temperate climate. On that account and in view of the smallness of his pension Mr. Gibson is anxious to obtain employment suitable to his attainments within the United Kingdom, and I desire to recommend him for Your Lordship's favourable consideration.
Mr. Gibson's services to this Government have been most valuable in many ways. Besides performing

the regular duties pertaining to his appointment as Colonial Veterinary Surgeon, Mr. Gibson has on several occasions acted as Head of the Sanitary Department and his administration of that department has given entire satis- faction to the Government and to the public generally, Mr. Gibson is a man of wide attainments, thoroughly con- versant with the work of a Veterinary Surgeon and keenly interested in present day problems connected with the
